Student guide
Use this section if you attend classes or seminars at an academy. If your plan includes linked academies, see Train at a linked academy.
Join your academy and sign in
- 1Open the invitation or join link supplied by your academy.
- 2Create your account or sign in with the email address the academy invited.
- 3Complete your name and profile information when prompted.
- 4If you belong to more than one academy, or your plan includes linked academies, use the academy switcher at the upper left to select the organization you are physically at before checking in. Your membership bill stays at your home academy.
If the wrong academy appears or no academy is listed, ask an administrator to verify the email address on your membership.

Announcements and notifications available to you.
Use your dashboard
- Review classes attended this month and check-ins this week.
- Compare weekly and monthly mat hours with the previous period.
- Track your current and longest streak for each enrolled program. Streaks count whole weeks: the week in progress never breaks one, and only a completed week with no attendance ends it.
- Review your current belt rank and submit a rank-adjustment request when available.
- View academy announcements and the monthly leaderboard if your academy enables it.
- Use dashboard customization controls to reorder or hide cards and set personal class goals.
Check in to a class
- 1Select Check in in the top navigation.
- 2If prompted, read and sign the current academy waiver first.
- 3Find the class you are attending. Only classes in the academy’s configured check-in window appear.
- 4Select the class check-in action and wait for confirmation.
How many classes your plan includes
Some plans buy a set number of classes — three a week, twelve a month — and others are unlimited. When yours is limited, the count is on screen the whole time rather than something you discover at the door.
- Your dashboard, the Check in page, and the kiosk all show what is left: “2 of 3 classes left this week”.
- On your last one you are told so, rather than only finding out on the next attempt.
- When the allowance is used up, check-in is refused and the reason is given — including at a kiosk that normally hides reasons, because this is your own entitlement and something you can act on.
- You get one notification the first time you reach the limit in a period, not one per attempt.
- Staff at the academy can check you in anyway when they choose to. It is a billing arrangement, not a safety rule.
- A week runs Sunday to Saturday and a month is the calendar month, both in the academy’s timezone. The reset does not follow your billing date — billed on the 12th, your monthly allowance still starts on the 1st.
- Several plans add up: a 3-a-week base plan and a 2-a-week add-on give you five.
- One unlimited plan makes the whole set unlimited.
- Only plans that would let you in at all count — a paused, cancelled, or unpaid plan grants no classes.
- Classes you attend as a guest at a linked academy count against the same allowance, because it was your home plan that got you in.
- Seminars do not count.
- Every check-in counts, however it was recorded — portal, kiosk, QR, or added by staff.
Sign or review your waiver
- 1Choose Waiver from the top navigation.
- 2Read the entire current waiver.
- 3Enter your legal name and submit the signature form.
- 4Confirm that the page reports the current waiver as signed.
A newly published waiver is a new version and may require you to sign again. Waiver-exempt members will see an exemption message instead. If your academies share waivers, one signature can satisfy every linked location until the text changes.
Register for a seminar
- 1Select Seminars from the top navigation.
- 2Open an upcoming seminar and review its date, details, capacity, and price.
- 3Register using the available registration action.
- 4Return to Seminars to confirm that your registration is shown.
Use the academy store
- 1Select Store from the top navigation.
- 2Browse available products and choose any required variant, such as size. Each variant shows its own price, and anything out of stock is marked and cannot be selected.
- 3Add items to your cart and review quantities before checkout.
- 4Review your cart and place the order when ready.
Product browsing and cart checkout are available. In-app store payment processing may still be handled offline by your academy. The price shown when you order is recorded on the order, so a later price change does not alter what you were charged.
Manage your profile and notifications
- 1Select your avatar in the upper-right corner, then choose Profile.
- 2Upload or change your avatar and update your real name or nickname preference.
- 3Choose whether to appear on the attendance leaderboard.
- 4Configure notification email delivery and immediate or digest mode.
- 5Add your mobile number and, if you want class texts, tick the text-message box. See Get text messages about classes below.
- 6Use Log Out from the avatar menu when finished on a shared computer.
Get text messages about classes
Texts are optional and operational, never marketing. Your academy uses them for schedule changes and to ask whether you can cover a class. Consent is double opt-in: adding a number does not subscribe you, and ticking the box does not either — only opening the confirmation link does.
- 1Open your avatar menu, choose Account, then Profile, and find the Mobile number card.
- 2Enter your number in international format, starting with + and your country code.
- 3Tick the text-message consent box. It is unchecked by default; saving without it stores no consent and sends nothing.
- 4Save. We send one confirmation text with a link.
- 5Open the link and press Yes, text me. Until you do, the card reads SMS pending and no further message is sent.
- 6If the link is not used within 72 hours it expires and the number is marked opted out. Use Send a new confirmation link to start again.
- Reply STOP to any message to stop, or HELP for help. Message frequency varies and message and data rates may apply.
- After a STOP your carrier blocks our messages, so nothing we send can reach you. Text START to the number that texted you and a fresh confirmation link comes straight back.
- A START lifts the carrier block but is not consent on its own — you still have to open the new confirmation link.
- Clearing the consent box and saving turns texts off. Clearing the number entirely removes it and stops all texts.
- An administrator may enter your number for you, but the confirmation text and link work exactly the same way; only you can confirm.
- Stopping texts does not affect your membership, your account, or email notifications.
The full programme description, the verbatim consent wording, and example messages are on the public SMS messaging and opt-in page. Mobile numbers and consent are never shared with third parties for marketing, and are never sold.
Manage billing and plans
- 1Open your avatar menu and choose Account, then Billing.
- 2Review plan enrollments for you and, if you are the primary contact, your household.
- 3Pay pending plans, cancel active plans, or change to another plan when offered.
- 4Primary contacts can open Manage billing to update payment methods and view invoices in Stripe.
Only the primary account contact can manage payment methods. Other members can pay or cancel their own enrollments. Payment bypass (comp) is granted by academy staff only. Link-group plans are billed only at your home academy; training at a linked location does not create a second membership charge.
Train at a linked academy
- 1Confirm your home plan includes linked-academy access (entire group or specific locations). Your dashboard may list academies you can also train at.
- 2Use the academy switcher to open the academy you are visiting—not only your home academy.
- 3Sign the visiting academy’s waiver if shared-waiver mode is not on for the group.
- 4Check in from the portal, QR, or kiosk. Staff can find you in kiosk search as a guest even if you are not on that academy’s Members list.
- 5Rosters may show a Guest from their home academy label so staff know where your membership lives.
Visiting academies do not create a local member profile for guests. Billing and account status stay at your home academy. If check-in is rejected, ask staff to confirm your plan’s link access and that the class program is mapped.
Members on your account who have no login
A child who trains but has no email address does not need one. The academy can record them as a member of your account, and they train, hold a plan and appear on rosters like anyone else — they simply have no login. If you are the account’s primary contact, you act for them.
- 1Ask the academy to add them to your account. They need a name; an email address is not required.
- 2Sign their waiver from your own Waiver page. Members on your account who cannot sign for themselves are listed there, and the signature records both whose waiver it is and that you accepted it.
- 3Use the member switcher on your dashboard to view their dashboard, rank and attendance as they would see it.
- 4Watch for their notifications in your own inbox — they arrive named, in the third person.
- They hold their own plan enrollment, so a 3-a-week plan is three classes for that child rather than three shared across the family, and two children on the same programme are enrolled separately.
- Notifications that would have gone to them come to you instead, worded to say who they are about: “Sofia has used all 3 classes on her plan this week”.
- The switcher is read-only. It shows you their dashboard, rank and history; anything that writes still belongs to whoever is signed in.
- Checking in is not part of it. The Check in page always acts as you, not as the member you are viewing.
- Only the account’s primary contact gets the switcher. In a two-parent household that means picking one — moving it moves billing and correspondence too, so ask the academy rather than assuming.
- If they later get their own email and accept an invitation, everything they have done comes with them: attendance, promotions, streaks, plans and waiver signatures all stay attached to the same person.
Student troubleshooting
- No gear icon is expected for a student-only account; organization settings are role-restricted.
- After an administrator changes your role, log out and back in so your session receives the updated role.
- If check-in redirects to Waiver, complete the current waiver and retry.
- If a class is missing, it may not be inside the check-in window, may not have been generated from the schedule, or may belong to a program you cannot access.
- Your plan controls paid program access. Pending payment blocks check-in until paid — use Account → Billing, ask your primary contact, or watch for a payment request email from the academy.
- Your Account groups household members and billing; use Account → Billing to pay pending, cancel, or change plans.
- If your rank, plan, or program is wrong, ask academy staff to update the member record.
- Rejected at a linked academy: your plan may be local-only, the class program may be unmapped, your home payment may be past grace, or the waiver may be unsigned.
- Class missing at a linked academy: confirm you selected the visiting academy in the switcher and that you are inside the check-in window.
- Your profile says SMS pending: the confirmation text was sent but the link has not been opened. Open it, or request a new link if it has been more than 72 hours.
- No texts arriving after you replied STOP: the block sits at your carrier, so nothing sent from the app can reach you. Text START to the number that texted you, then open the confirmation link that comes back.
- Refused with “you have used all your classes”: your plan’s allowance for this week or month is spent. It resets at the start of the next period, or ask staff to check you in this once.
- The remaining count looks wrong: visits to a linked academy count against it, and so do check-ins staff recorded for you by hand. Seminars do not.
- You cannot see a child’s dashboard: the member switcher is only offered to the account’s primary contact, and only for members who have no login of their own.
- No confirmation text at all: check the number is in international format (+ and country code), then use Send a new confirmation link. If it still does not arrive, ask your academy whether text messaging is configured.
